If you’ve played AdventureQuest Worlds (AQW) for any length of time, you’ve probably seen players rocking discontinued 2009 rares or massive Collection Chests and wondered, "How did they get that?"
The answer is usually an IoDA (Item of Digital Awesomeness)—the ultimate ticket in AQW that allows you to claim almost any rare, seasonal, or hard-to-get item in the entire game.
Getting your hands on an IoDA isn't simple, but there are multiple paths depending on whether you want to spend money, grind slowly, or rely on pure luck. Here is every single way to get an IoDA in AQWorlds!
1. Buying Big AC Packages (The Guaranteed Route)
The fastest and most direct way to secure an IoDA is through the AQW Account Manager.
- 40,000 AC Package ($100 USD): Purchasing the largest AdventureCoin package grants you 1x IoDA as a bonus reward.
- 12-Month Membership Package: Buying a 1-year membership tier also grants you an IoDA token as a bonus prize.
Pro Tip (Bonus IoDA System): For the first 6 IoDAs you redeem on your account, Artix Entertainment awards you a Bonus IoDA (BIoDA) for FREE! That means buying one 40k AC pack effectively gives you 2 items of your choice.
2. The Wheel of Doom (Free-to-Play & Luck-Based)
You can try your luck at the Wheel of Doom (/join doom).
Option A: The Extremely Rare Drop
Every time you spin the Wheel of Doom, there is a 0.1% chance to pull an Epic Item of Digital Awesomeness (EIoDA).
- Free Members Spin: 1 spin per day.
- Free Non-Members Spin: 1 free spin per week (via gears turn-in).
Option B: The Treasure Potion Grind
Every spin guarantees at least 1 Treasure Potion.
- Once you accumulate 1,000 Treasure Potions, you can exchange them in the Doom Merge Shop for a Platinum Item of Donated Awesomeness (PIoDA).
- F2P Timeline: It takes non-members a few years to reach 1,000 potions, but it is 100% free if you stay dedicated!
3. Account Milestones (Loyalty Rewards)
Artix Entertainment rewards long-time players for their loyalty! Check your Book of Lore or Account Manager for these badges:
- 15-Year Played Badge: Reaching 15 years on your account grants you a special quest pet in the Book of Lore that turns into an IoDA token.
- 15-Year Membership Badge: Purchasing a total cumulative 15 years of membership across your account’s lifetime rewards an IoDA token.
4. Whaling the Wheel (Rhubarb IoDA)
For high-spending players who have emptied out the Wheel of Doom:
- Once you own every single cosmetic drop from the Wheel of Doom pool, a special shop unlocks in your Account Manager called the Rhubarb Item of Digital Awesomeness (RIoDA).
- This allows you to purchase unlimited IoDAs directly for 30,000 ACs each.
How to Spend Your IoDA
Once you get an IoDA, head over to your Account Manager on the official site to claim your item.
Best Things to Claim:
- Collection Chests: (e.g., Black Friday, Dark Holiday, Talk Like a Pirate Day) – These grant dozens, sometimes hundreds, of rare cosmetics in a single pick!
- Hard-to-Get Rares: Classic Alpha Pirate, Oblivion Blade of Nulgath (Rare), or iconic naval commanders.
What NOT to Claim:
- Avoid items you can easily farm in-game like Void Highlord or Legion Revenant unless you truly despise grinding, as you waste the cosmetic rarity value!
- Certain Heromart/physical merch items are excluded.
